About LQM
Meet Sharan, the creator
Hi, I'm Sharan — a mum, and the person behind Little Quiet Mind!
My greatest achievement and inspiration is my son, Taj. Here's a picture of the two of us from many years ago, taken in a photobooth full of giggles!
I love to talk, but when I read, everything goes quiet. My imagination comes alive hence, the name Little Quiet Mind! I hope Little Quiet Mind helps every child experience that same feeling as they get lost in a story.
Most of the stories you'll find here are written by me. From time to time, I also share stories from other children's book creators under Creative Commons, always with clear credit — because I love supporting and celebrating the wider community of storytellers. I upload a new story every week.
I'm a one-person team, so I use digital tools to help bring my illustrations and ideas to life. One day, I’d love to collaborate with illustrators directly, but for now it’s just me, a laptop, and a whole lot of love for children’s books.

Authors who inspire me
- My favourite author of all time is Roald Dahl — Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of my favourite stories.
- I also love Richard Scarry’s books, especially "What Do People Do All Day?".
- I adore Meg and Mog by Helen Nicoll and Jan Pieńkowski.
- Dick Bruna’s Miffy books are another favourite of mine.
- I also grew up loving Enid Blyton, the Mr. Men series, and many other wonderful authors who have inspired my love of children’s books.
